Evening Theater Youth Program for this summer
Entertaining audiences for 71 years, the Westborough Players' Club
(WPC) is one of the oldest community theater organizations in New England. The
club has produced hundreds of shows for children and adults since its
incorporation in 1937. Following its mission to bring quality theater to Central
Massachusetts, WPC wants to share its expertise with young actors by conducting
its Summer Children’s Musical Theatre Workshop.
In its ninth year, the workshop is open to students entering grades
three through nine and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 –
9pm, from July 8 – July 31.
Westborough Players' Club calls its program a workshop because unlike
other summer programs that focus on preparing for a final production, the WPC
faculty prepare the workshop participants to present works in progress at an
informal final showcase. The artistic coaches focus on the individual
performer, working in small groups in the three fundamental disciplines: drama,
dance, and singing.
One recent participant’s parent said, "I haven't found any other local
program where the student-to-teacher ratio is so low and every child is
involved all the time.”
Workshop registration is currently open. Contact program Director
